September at a glance....

In Math, our focus for the month is:

~ representing and comparing numbers
~ ordering numbers
~ rounding numbers to the nearest 10
~ identifying the value of a digit in a 3 digit number

In Language:

~ we are reading a novel (Fudge-a-mania) and discussing each chapter to ensure comprehension
~ examining the four seasons (weather, activities, holidays) and writing a descriptive paragraph comparing two seasons
~ developing vocabulary and sentences (simple to compound)

A class wins a pizza party for reading the most books in September. There are 28 students in the class and each student will get 2 slices of pizza. Each pizza has 6 slices.

A) How many pizzas will the school need to buy so that each student can have 2 slices? Show your thinking.

B) Will there be any slices left over? If so, how many?
